Where to find sun from Vilnius
Vilnius is further from the sea than Riga or Tallinn, so winters are colder and summers a little warmer. It is still a northern continental city, not a door to a mild coast.
What you can reach
About 2 hours by car: Kaunas (about 1 h 15), Lida (about 1 h 15), Maladziecna (about 1 h 30), Panevezys (about 1 h 45).
Further, still inside 5 hours: Minsk (about 2 h 30), Riga (about 3 h 45), Hrodna (about 2 h), Vitebsk (about 4 h 30), Mahilyow (about 4 h 45).
Inside a 4-hour door-to-door flight, and too far for that drive: Koszalin, Malmö, Stockholm, Tallinn. Four hours by air reaches a lot of cold cities and, at the margin, the northern Adriatic. Winter warmth sits past the edge of this circle.
Car times are the straight-line estimate SunFinder starts from (~70 km/h), before a routed drive. A mountain road or a ferry takes longer. The flight circle is the same 4-hour limit the tool uses.
When to stay
Klaipeda and the Curonian Spit are a long drive to a cooler beach: worth it in July, pointless in November. Warsaw is the same season. If the city is already fine, stay.
