Where to find sun from Copenhagen
Copenhagen is mild for Scandinavia and cool for a beach. Summers are long and light and rarely hot. Winters are dark and windy, and still above the deep cold of the Baltic states.
What you can reach
About 2 hours by car: Odense (about 2 h), Klinteby Frihed (about 1 h 15), Helsingør (about 34 min), Holbæk (about 46 min).
Further, still inside 5 hours: Hamburg (about 4 h 15), Szczecin (about 4 h), Arhus (about 2 h 15), Kiel (about 3 h), Rostock (about 2 h 30).
Inside a 4-hour door-to-door flight, and too far for that drive: Ipswich, Leiden, Gdańsk, Riga. Four hours by air reaches cities, not a warm coast. The Canaries and the Mediterranean are outside this circle.
Car times are the straight-line estimate SunFinder starts from (~70 km/h), before a routed drive. A mountain road or a ferry takes longer. The flight circle is the same 4-hour limit the tool uses.
When to stay
Across the Oresund bridge, Malmo is the same weather. A five-hour drive stays in Denmark and northern Germany, which is the same sea climate. In summer the harbour is the trip. In winter, stay or fly much further.
Crossing the water
The Oresund bridge reaches Malmo in well under an hour, and the climate does not change on the way. Ferries run to Oslo and Bornholm. Both stay on the same sea.
